I remember.....

Back in the fall of 09, I saw the commercials and trailers for the film 9. With it being an animated movie that's not for your little brother, that it was about the world's afterlife, with new life being awake, counting down, and with the machine menace.
I was really stupid to think they'd be almost human size, I was really stupid. I can not stress that enough, stupider than a politician, even more than the moves Congress makes.
I'm glad. Sadly, I won't be watching it due to me recording over fifteen James Bond films, and I got to watch them. Anyways, let's remember this new take of adventure with these rag dolls, Stitchpunks, embedded inside with robotic skeletons, optics, claws, zippers, stitches, burlap, and a fragment of a poor old man. Let's remember. Julius Bergeron, a toymaker, who loved making toys, or he was a poor one. He possibly had a family, or was alone. Was forced by a dictator to create a machine of "peace". To which, the machine was overworked and backlashed against humanity. The old man sees his destructive child, and knows the world will end. He decided to give the new world, new living creatures. Creating nine Stitchpunks, but with the ninth killing him.
Let us remember the greatness and youth Shane Acker brought out. A college project called 9, back in 2005, which took four and a half years to create, and it was outstanding. With dark themes, human features in the Stitchpunk, and a threatening menace. People like Burton and Bekmambetov were impressed, an actress/ voice actress' children love the short, people loved it. It was nominated for an Academy Award, the movie business loved it, and had the idea of having a feature film of it, revamped, reintroduced, and with more stuff! Another four years of course, but worth it for September 2009. They released two NECA figures of two Stitchpunks, released cards, and more!! The trailers and commercials and featurettes were stunning. And, Wednesday the Ninth, it came out. It was the number one grossing film in the week, but became number two when a Tyler Perry film came out. With only a budget of $30 million, it only grossed $48 million. A success? Sadly, the film received mixed reviews.
However, there were more positive notes and lauds for the film's animation, characters, and tone. I found it amazing, and I can see it's flaws. There's no such thing as a perfect film, but 9 was in there for animated movies. With the late Ebert awarding it three stars and awarding comments, the movie proves to be a good film. Sadly, it would later on go into obscurity, even with its DVD and Blu-Ray release in December 29, 2009, but it did not in the internet. The 2009 flick had brought a cult following, more generous reviews, and videos and art. Those included for art were the arcs of 9: Genesis and 9: Avengement. Thank you awesome fans for the fan art, stories, videos, etc. Shane Acker would love you guys very much. So, as a rememberance...
Have a good 9-DAY. You Shall Protect the Future 9.... I forgot... Don't tell 6 where the source is, he'll go fanboy.
Thanks Mr. Acker and Burton and Bekmambetov and Wood.
As mentioned by a friend, here's a link to Avengement (stitchpunk0.deviantart.com/gal…) and Genesis (lily-pily.deviantart.com/galle… and krrouse.deviantart.com/gallery…).

I felt so sad that (I think) 9 never released in the Philippines and yet there are two people are the only 9 fans in the Philippines.
